Claude usage limits explained: 5-hour, weekly and Fable
Claude has a rolling 5-hour session limit (none on a verified Ultra account) and a weekly limit shared by chat, Desktop and Claude Code. How each resets.
Claude usage limits and plans
Claude does not give you a fixed number of messages: each conversation uses a share of your plan's allowance, counted in several windows at once. Free, Pro and Max have a session limit on a rolling five-hour window (Ultra has none once Anthropic has verified the account); paid plans add a weekly limit that resets at a fixed time each week, and some models have a limit of their own.
