Terms of Sale

Terms of Sale

Ordering, prices, right of withdrawal, cancellation and refunds for a paid UsageMeter subscription.

Last updated: September 24, 2026

These Terms of Sale (the "Terms") govern every subscription to a paid UsageMeter plan. They form a contract between the publisher of UsageMeter (the "Seller") and you, the natural or legal person who subscribes (the "Customer"). You accept them on Stripe's secure payment page, before confirming your order, by ticking the box "I have read and accept the terms of sale and ask for immediate access to UsageMeter Pro". The version in force is the one shown on this page; the version you accepted is stated in your order confirmation email.

Key points

First subscription: 7-day free trial, nothing is charged if you cancel before it ends. Immediate Pro access at your request, without giving up your 14-day right of withdrawal: if you withdraw, you only pay for the service already provided (article 9). Prices include all taxes and are shown in your currency. Cancel anytime in three clicks from your account, effective at the end of the current period (article 10). Other refund cases are described in articles 11 and 12.

01Seller identification

UsageMeter is published and sold by BÉRAUD Ewan Jefferson, sole trader (micro-entrepreneur) registered under SIREN 934 019 613, established in Strasbourg, France (APE code 4791A). Contact: contact@usagemeter.app. Hosting: Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany.

02Definitions

In these Terms, capitalised terms have the following meaning:

  • "Service": the UsageMeter browser extension, the usagemeter.app website and its dashboard, the UsageMeterLink desktop app, and any related feature available from an Account.
  • "Account": the Customer's personal space on usagemeter.app, identified by an email address, with a password or a Google or GitHub sign-in.
  • "Subscription": the contract giving access to the paid features of the Service (Pro monthly, Pro yearly or Team), entered into for one Cycle and renewed automatically until it is cancelled.
  • "Cycle": the billing period of a Subscription, one month or twelve months.
  • "Free Trial": the 7-day period without payment granted on a first subscription (article 5).
  • "Major Downtime": the unavailability of the Service defined in article 12.
  • "Consumer": any natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft, profession or farming activity (preliminary article of the French Consumer Code).

03Purpose

These Terms set out the conditions under which the Seller provides the Customer, remotely and for a fee, with access to the paid features of the Service as online software (SaaS). Use of the Service remains governed by the Terms of Service (/terms); for everything related to the sale, these Terms prevail.

04Ordering and conclusion of the contract

Orders are placed online on usagemeter.app, where the purchase links of the extension, the app and our emails also lead. An order follows these steps:

  • The Customer chooses a plan (Pro monthly, Pro yearly or Team, with the number of seats for Team), then signs in to their Account or creates one: the Subscription is attached to that Account.
  • They are taken to the secure payment page of Stripe, the Seller's payment provider, which summarises the order before anything is confirmed: plan, price and currency, Free Trial and any offer, date and amount of the first charge, automatic renewal and how to cancel. The Customer can check and correct their details there, or go back without paying anything.
  • They accept these Terms and ask for immediate access to the Service by ticking the box provided for this purpose; when the Stripe page shows no box, the statement placed above the payment button serves the same purpose. This request is not a waiver of the right of withdrawal (article 9).
  • They confirm the order with the payment button, which commits them to pay the amounts shown on the dates shown. The contract is concluded as soon as Stripe confirms the order: payment accepted or, during a Free Trial, payment method saved.
  • The Seller then confirms the contract by email, on a durable medium: plan, price and currency, Free Trial and first charge dates, version of the Terms accepted, request for immediate access, withdrawal conditions with the model form, and how to cancel.
  • An Account can hold only one active Subscription. If a second subscription is recorded by mistake for the same Account, it is cancelled and refunded in full.
  • The Customer is responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide.

05Free Trial and offers

On their first subscription, the Customer gets a 7-day Free Trial. The following rules apply:

  • nothing is charged during the Free Trial; if the Customer cancels before it ends, they pay nothing;
  • otherwise the Subscription continues: the first charge takes place at the end of the Free Trial or, when an offer makes the following period free, at the end of that free period, on the date and for the amount shown on the Stripe page and in the confirmation email;
  • the Free Trial is reserved for Customers who have never subscribed before: a former subscriber pays from the order;
  • promotional offers (welcome code, referral, partner code) apply on the conditions shown when ordering and restated on the Stripe page, to the invoices that follow the Free Trial; only one offer applies per Subscription and it cannot be exchanged for money;
  • a time-limited offer, such as the 24-hour window of the welcome code, is no longer granted once it has expired.

06Prices, currencies and taxes

Prices are shown on the /pricing page and restated on the Stripe payment page before anything is confirmed. They include all taxes: the amount shown on the Stripe page is the total amount charged, with no fees added by the Seller. Prices exist in several currencies (euro, US dollar, pound sterling, Swiss franc, yen and others). The currency is the one chosen by the Customer or, failing that, the one matching their location; it is shown on the Stripe page and remains the Subscription's currency for its whole life. Each price is set by the Seller in each currency: it is not converted at the day's rate when paying. Any exchange or international payment fees charged by the Customer's bank remain their responsibility. The Seller may change its prices. A new price never applies to a Cycle that has already started; for an ongoing Subscription, the Customer is informed by email before the renewal concerned and may cancel before it.

07Payment

Payment is processed by Stripe: bank card (and, depending on the device, Apple Pay or Google Pay) or Link. The Seller never has access to the Customer's full payment details. The payment method saved with the order is charged automatically on each due date, first at the end of the Free Trial or of the free period, then at the start of each Cycle, until cancellation. Invoices are available in the billing portal reachable from the Account page. If a payment fails, Stripe may try the charge again; without payment, access to the paid features ends and the Account returns to the free plan.

08Access to the Service

At the Customer's express request (article 4), the paid features are activated on their Account as soon as the contract is concluded, Free Trial included, without waiting for the end of the withdrawal period. The Service is provided online, with no physical delivery: to use it in the extension or the UsageMeterLink app, the Customer signs in there with their Account.

09Right of withdrawal

A Consumer Customer has 14 days from the conclusion of the contract (article 4) to withdraw, without giving any reason (articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code). Asking for immediate access does not take this right away:

  • to withdraw, they inform the Seller of their decision before the period ends, through an unequivocal statement sent to contact@usagemeter.app, for example using the model form in the annex (its use is not mandatory); the Seller acknowledges receipt by email;
  • during the Free Trial or a free period, nothing is owed: withdrawing costs nothing, and a simple cancellation is enough to avoid any charge;
  • after a payment, the Customer owes an amount proportionate to the service provided until they communicated their decision (article L221-25), calculated pro rata to the days elapsed in the paid Cycle; everything else is refunded;
  • the refund is made within 14 days of the Seller being informed of the decision, using the same payment method as the order, at no cost to the Customer;
  • withdrawal ends the Subscription and access to the paid features; the Account returns to the free plan;
  • this right is reserved for Consumers: it does not benefit a Customer who subscribes for the needs of their professional activity.

10Term, renewal and cancellation

The Subscription is entered into for one Cycle (one month or one year) and renews automatically for a Cycle of the same length until it is cancelled. The Customer can cancel at any time, free of charge and without giving any reason:

  • online, from the Account page on usagemeter.app, with the "Cancel subscription" button: three clicks are enough from the signed-in Account (article L215-1-1 of the French Consumer Code); the Stripe billing portal, reachable from the same page, also allows it;
  • cancellation takes effect at the end of the current Cycle or of the Free Trial: the Customer keeps access to the paid features until that date, no further charge is made, then the Account automatically returns to the free plan;
  • the Seller confirms the cancellation by email, with its effective date; until that date, the Customer can reverse their decision from the billing portal.

11Refunds

Apart from the right of withdrawal (article 9), Major Downtime (article 12) and a duplicate subscription (article 4), no refund is granted. In particular:

  • no pro-rata refund of the remaining time when cancelling during a Cycle;
  • no refund if the Service is not used during one or more Cycles;
  • no refund in case of incompatibility caused by a change made by a third party (for example Anthropic, PBC) to the Claude.ai service;
  • no refund if the Account is suspended or terminated for breach of the Terms of Service, these Terms or Anthropic's terms;
  • a refund granted as a commercial gesture remains at the Seller's sole discretion and creates no precedent.

12Major Downtime: refund conditions

"Major Downtime" means an unavailability of the Service that meets all three of the following conditions:

  • Duration: continuous unavailability of more than 24 consecutive hours, or monthly availability below 95% (i.e. more than about 36 cumulative hours of unavailability over a calendar month).
  • Attribution: the unavailability comes from the UsageMeter Service itself (usagemeter.app website, license API, sync API) and not from a third party outside the Seller's control (Claude.ai, Chrome Web Store, payment provider, the Customer's internet provider or hardware).
  • Impact: the Customer shows, by any means (screenshots, messages sent to contact@usagemeter.app during the period concerned), that they actually experienced this unavailability.
  • If Major Downtime is established, the Seller refunds the part of the Cycle corresponding to the observed unavailability, within 30 days of the Customer's written request.

13Warranties and liability

The Service is provided as offered on the date of the order. The Seller makes its best efforts to ensure its continuity and security, without guaranteeing 100% availability. A Consumer Customer benefits from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (articles L224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code): in case of a lack of conformity, they can have the Service brought into conformity or, failing that, obtain a price reduction or the termination of the contract. Towards a professional Customer, the Seller's liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damage and capped at the amount actually paid for the current Cycle, indirect damage (loss of data, loss of opportunity, operating loss) being excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits the Seller's liability for fraud, gross negligence or breach of a mandatory statutory obligation.

14Intellectual property

The Service, its source code, trademarks, logos and interfaces are the exclusive property of the Seller or its licensors. The Customer receives a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right of use, limited to the duration of their Subscription. Any reproduction, modification, redistribution or reverse engineering is prohibited, except within the limits allowed by law. "Claude™", "Claude.ai™" and "Anthropic®" are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC and are used for descriptive purposes only (see /fair-use).

15Personal data

The Seller processes the personal data strictly needed for the order, the provision of the Service, billing and compliance with its legal obligations; payment data is processed by Stripe. The details (legal bases, recipients, retention periods, the Customer's rights under the GDPR) are in the Privacy Policy (/privacy).

16Changes to these Terms

The Seller may change these Terms. An order remains governed by the version accepted when it was confirmed: its version number (its date) is recorded with the order and restated in the confirmation email. If a substantial change affects an ongoing Subscription, the Customer is informed by email before it takes effect and may cancel free of charge before then.

17Governing law, mediation and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law, without depriving a Consumer Customer living in another European Union country of the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence. In case of difficulty, the Customer first sends a written complaint to contact@usagemeter.app. If this does not resolve it, a Consumer Customer may use a consumer mediator free of charge, under articles L611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code. Failing an amicable solution, the dispute is brought before the competent courts of Strasbourg, subject to the mandatory jurisdiction rules that protect Consumers.

Founder licence (one-time payment)

These terms complete the Terms of Sale for the Founder licence, a UsageMeter Pro licence paid once. For anything they do not cover, the Terms of Sale apply.

Purpose

The Founder licence gives access, with no time limit, to the features of UsageMeter Pro for as long as the Seller operates the UsageMeter Pro service, for one Account. It is personal and non-transferable: it cannot be resold, transferred or shared.

What “for life” means

“For life” refers to the lifetime of the UsageMeter Pro product, not to the Customer's. As long as the Seller operates UsageMeter Pro, the Customer's Account has access to it without paying anything more.

What the licence includes

  • every current individual Pro feature;
  • every feature added to Pro in the future;
  • a numbered “Founder” badge, shown on the Account.

What it does not include

  • the Team plan and its team features (seats, team administration and billing);
  • a possible plan above Pro, should one ever be created;
  • access to Claude and Claude.ai, which are Anthropic services under their own terms and subscriptions.

Price and payment

The price is paid once, all taxes included, in the currency shown on the Stripe payment page. There is no renewal and no later charge. The licence is never sold at a discount or combined with a promotion code, and its price will not go down: should a new run ever be offered, it will not be cheaper.

Limited run

The licence is sold in a limited run of 30 seats, numbered in the order of payment. The number of seats left shown is real. A seat is held while the payment page is open (30 minutes); an abandoned seat goes back on sale.

If you already subscribed

When the licence is activated, a running Pro subscription on the same Account is cancelled at once and the period already paid but not used is refunded pro rata, to the original payment method. A Team subscription is not changed.

Right of withdrawal

A Consumer Customer has 14 days from the payment to withdraw, without giving any reason, under article 9 of the Terms of Sale (articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code). For the Founder licence, the Seller then refunds the full price, without keeping any amount for the days already used; the licence is withdrawn and its seat goes back on sale. After those 14 days, the “Refunds” article of the Terms of Sale applies, subject to the “End of the service” article of these terms.

End of the service

If the Seller stops operating UsageMeter Pro, the Customer is told by email at least 90 days in advance. If it stops within 24 months of the purchase, the Seller refunds the share of the price matching the months left out of those 24, that is (24 − months elapsed) / 24 of the price paid. After 24 months, no refund is due.

Claude and Claude.ai

UsageMeter is an independent tool, not affiliated with Anthropic. The licence promises nothing about Claude.ai: if a change made by a third party limits a feature, the “Refunds” article of the Terms of Sale applies, within the limit of the “End of the service” article of these terms.

End of the licence

The licence ends with a full refund, a payment disputed with the bank, fraud or a serious breach of the Terms of Use. Deleting the Account deletes the licence; invoices are kept as the law requires.

By confirming an order, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. Their version is stated in the order confirmation email; a copy can be sent to you on simple request to contact@usagemeter.app.
