What usagemeter.app stores in your browser, why and for how long — and how to change your mind in one click.

We always set the cookies the site needs: session, language, your choices and, if you open a friend's link, their invitation offer. Everything else — ad measurement, personalised advertising, the partner programme, ads on our articles — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time, as easily as you gave it. Refusing changes nothing about how the site works.
What this browser has recorded. To exercise your rights over a choice, quote its identifier.
For each: what it does, its legal basis and how long it lasts.
Sign-in, language, remembering your choices, security, a friend's invite offer, displayed currency, and the support chat once you open it. The site cannot work without them.
Learn which ad or link brought you and what followed (a click on “Add”, install, sign-up, subscription). UsageMeter cookie um_attr (90 days) and, for the partners you leave on, these events sent to Meta and Google — including your email address, hashed before sending, when you give it to us (sign-up, sign-in, sending the link), which they can match with your account on their side — to measure and optimise our ads.
Let Meta and Google show you our ads because you visited UsageMeter (retargeting), and find people with a similar profile. Requires “Ad measurement”.
Meta is only loaded with both “Ad measurement” and “Personalised advertising”: it does not separate measurement from personalisation. Google Ads uses this purpose for retargeting only.
If you arrive through a partner's link (creator, blog…), we remember their code for 60 days (um_via cookie) so they earn a commission if you subscribe. They only see a masked address (e.g. ma***@gmail.com) and the amounts paid.
In Google's message (Europe), the partner programme follows your answer to the purposes “Store and/or access information on a device” and “Measure advertising performance” for our own use: Google's message knows no affiliation purpose.
Google may show ads on our articles and guides (Google AdSense) and use cookies to choose them, possibly based on your interests, and to measure them.
Only on our articles, guides, comparisons, tools and reference pages — never on the home page, pricing, download, your account or checkout.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, your choices are collected by Google's “Privacy & messaging” message, a consent platform certified by Google and integrated with the IAB TCF framework — required for sites that show Google AdSense ads. It covers Google's ads (AdSense and Google Ads), Meta (through Google's “additional consent”) and our own measurement: your answers to the purposes “Store and/or access information on a device” (1) and “Measure advertising performance” (7) for our own use count as “Ad measurement” and “Partner programme”. We copy the result into our um_consent cookie without keeping the consent string itself — only a fingerprint of it. Everywhere else, our own banner shows.

Your choice — consent or refusal — is kept for 6 months, then we ask again. We also ask again if we add a purpose or a partner (a new version of the banner); after a refusal, we never ask sooner. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we apply it as a refusal, without showing the banner; you can still accept through the “Cookies” link. In Google's message (Europe), Google decides when to ask again (13 months at most).
The “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page, the icon in the bottom-left corner or the button below reopen your choices; “Refuse all” withdraws everything in one click. We then delete the cookies concerned from our domain, nothing more is sent to Meta or Google under that choice, pending sends are cancelled, and the page reloads if an advertising script was loaded. The cookies Meta and Google set on their own domains are managed with them (the “Settings” links above). Withdrawal applies from then on.
